How Drain Ninja Started
In 2005, Ramon Delgado was working as a plumber's apprentice in Hialeah, learning the trade from his uncle. Miami plumbing back then meant a lot of old cast iron pipe, a lot of tree roots, and a lot of homeowners who'd been quoted prices that made no sense to them.
Ramon noticed something. Most drain companies treated every call the same way, show up, snake it, charge whatever the truck roll cost that day. Nobody explained what actually caused the clog. Nobody told you if the same problem would come back in six months.
He started Drain Ninja out of a single truck in 2005 with a simple rule: diagnose before you clean, and tell the customer exactly what you found. That rule is still how we operate.
By 2010, word had spread through Hialeah and Miami Springs. By 2015, we'd expanded into Brickell and the Beach. Today, Drain Ninja runs a fleet of fully equipped trucks covering all of Miami-Dade, and we still follow Ramon's original rule on every single call.
Our Team
Ramon Delgado | Founder & Master Plumber
Ramon founded Drain Ninja in 2005 after six years working under his uncle's plumbing license in Hialeah. He holds a Florida Master Plumber license (License #[LICENSE]) and has personally trained every lead technician on our team.
Ramon still runs emergency calls himself when the situation calls for it, particularly complex sewer line diagnostics and any job involving Miami's older cast iron infrastructure, which he's worked with for over two decades. He lives in Westchester with his wife and two sons, both of whom have worked summers on the trucks.

Elena Vasquez | Operations Manager
Elena has run day-to-day operations at Drain Ninja since 2014. She manages dispatch, technician scheduling, and the relationships with the property management companies and HOAs we work with across Brickell, Coral Gables, and Miami Beach.
Before joining Drain Ninja, Elena spent six years in property management for a mid-size Miami real estate firm, which gives her a working knowledge of how condo boards and building management actually operate. When a Brickell high-rise calls with a stack line emergency at 2 AM, Elena is usually the one who answers.
She's bilingual in English and Spanish and oversees our commitment to Spanish-speaking dispatch and service across Miami-Dade.
Marcus Ibe | Lead Technician, Sewer & Root Specialist
Marcus joined Drain Ninja in 2011 and has spent the last several years focused specifically on sewer line diagnostics and tree root removal — a specialty that matters more in Miami than almost anywhere else in the country because of our tropical root systems.
He's certified in trenchless pipe repair and camera inspection technology, and he trains newer technicians on root-cutting techniques for banyan, ficus, and royal palm root intrusion, which behave differently from the root systems most plumbing training covers.
Marcus grew up in Coconut Grove and still lives there, which is part of why he ended up specializing in exactly the kind of tropical root problems that neighborhood is known for.
David Chen | Hydro Jetting & Commercial Specialist
David leads our commercial and hydro jetting division, handling grease trap service for Miami restaurants and heavy-duty sewer line jetting for commercial properties across Wynwood, Doral, and the greater Miami-Dade commercial corridor.
He came to Drain Ninja in 2016 after eight years in commercial plumbing maintenance, and he holds certification in high-pressure water jetting systems. David works directly with restaurant owners on FOG compliance and scheduled maintenance plans that keep grease traps from becoming emergency calls.

Diagnose before you clean
We don't guess. Every job starts with understanding what actually caused the problem, not just clearing what's in front of us.
Tell the customer the truth
If a $150 fix will hold for years, we tell you that instead of upselling a $2,000 repair. If a cheap fix won't last, we tell you that too, and we explain why.
Use methods that don't damage your pipes
We don't use harsh chemical drain cleaners. Miami's older plumbing can't take the corrosion, and chemical cleaners usually don't fix the actual problem anyway.
No surprise pricing
The quote we give you before the work starts is the price you pay. If something changes once we're inside the pipe, we stop and talk to you before continuing.

Our Credentials
Drain Ninja is a Florida-licensed plumbing contractor, verifiable through the Florida Department of Business and Professional Regulation.
We carry full general liability insurance and workers' compensation coverage on every technician. Certificates of insurance are available on request, including for property managers and HOAs who require documentation before granting building access.
Our lead technicians hold individual certifications in camera inspection systems, trenchless pipe repair, and high-pressure hydro jetting equipment.
Why We're Still Family-Owned
We've had offers to sell to national franchises over the years. We've turned them down every time.
A franchise call center in another state doesn't know that Coconut Grove's tree roots behave differently than Coral Gables'. It doesn't know which Brickell buildings require 48-hour notice for building access. It doesn't know that a sewer smell complaint in a 1960s Kendall home usually means something different than the same complaint in a 2015 Doral condo.
We know these things because we've worked these neighborhoods for 20 years, not because we read them off a script. That's the difference between a local company and a franchise wearing a local-sounding name.
