Our emergency repairs come with the same warranty as scheduled work. If the same issue comes back from the same cause within the warranty period, we return at no charge.

Insurance-friendly documentation.

We provide detailed invoices, written diagnoses, and camera footage when applicable. This makes insurance claims faster and stronger.

Spanish-speaking dispatchers and technicians

A real concern for many Miami families. Our team handles emergencies in English and Spanish.

Family-owned and local

Calls go to our team, not a national call center. We've worked these neighborhoods for 20+ years. We know the housing stock, the soil conditions, the older plumbing systems.

What Is Drain Snaking?

Drain snaking uses a flexible cable with a cutting or corkscrew head, fed directly into the drain until it reaches the clog. The technician works the cable back and forth to break up the blockage or hook onto it and pull it back out.

It's the oldest and most reliable method in drain cleaning, and it's still the right tool for the majority of clogs a home or business encounters.

How Drain Snaking Works

The cable feeds into the drain through the fixture opening or a nearby cleanout. Once it reaches the clog, the technician engages the head — either cutting through the blockage or twisting into it to grab hold. The cable then withdraws, either clearing the path or pulling the clog material out with it.

For most residential clogs, this whole process takes a matter of minutes once the technician is set up.

When Drain Snaking Is the Right Choice

Snaking works best in specific situations.

Hair clogs

The most common bathroom drain problem, and snaking clears it fast.

Food waste

Kitchen sink clogs from food scraps and soft debris respond well to snaking.

Soft blockages

Anything that isn't hardened grease or solid scale buildup.

Clogs within 25 feet of an access point

Snaking has a practical reach limit. Blockages further down the line, especially in a main sewer line, often need hydro jetting instead.

Drain Snaking vs Hydro Jetting

Snaking is faster and cheaper for simple clogs. Jetting is needed for severe blockages.

If the clog is hair, food waste, or soft debris close to an access point, snaking clears it in minutes for $150 to $275. If the line has grease buildup, root intrusion, or keeps re-clogging after repeated snaking, hydro jetting does a more thorough job by cleaning the entire pipe wall instead of just punching through the blockage.

Our technicians assess on-site and recommend whichever method actually fits the problem, not whichever costs more.

Types of Drains We Snake

We snake every type of residential and commercial drain.

Snaking Kitchen Sinks

Kitchen sink clogs from grease, food scraps, and disposal debris usually sit in the trap or the first section of pipe. A standard snake clears most of these in 20 to 30 minutes.

Snaking Bathroom Drains

Hair and soap scum buildup in bathroom sinks, showers, and tubs respond well to snaking, especially when caught before the buildup becomes severe.

Snaking Toilets

Toilet clogs need a specific tool called a closet auger, a variation of a standard snake designed not to scratch porcelain. It clears clogs a plunger can't reach.

How Much Does Drain Snaking Cost?

Drain snaking in Miami typically costs $150 to $275 for most residential jobs.

Sink, tub, or shower clog:

150–225

Toilet clog with closet auger:

175–275

Branch line snaking (deeper access):

225–350

Price depends on the drain, how far into the line the clog sits, and how long it takes to clear. We quote before we start.

Can I Snake My Own Drain?

Sometimes, for simple clogs close to the drain opening. A store-bought hand snake can clear hair from a shower drain or a light clog from a bathroom sink.

Where DIY snaking runs into trouble: store-bought snakes are shorter and less durable than professional equipment, they can scratch fixtures or damage pipe if used with too much force, and they don't reach clogs sitting further down the line. If a few minutes of effort with a store-bought snake doesn't clear it, stop before you push the clog deeper or damage the pipe.

Technicians trained not to damage pipe

Excessive force with a snake can crack old or brittle pipe. Our technicians know how to work Miami's older cast iron and galvanized lines without pushing too hard.

FAQs About Drain Snaking

Does drain snaking damage pipes?

Snaking is safe when done correctly by a trained technician. The risk comes from excessive force, especially on old or brittle pipe. Our technicians adjust their approach based on the pipe material and condition, which is part of why we recommend a professional over a store-bought snake for anything beyond a surface-level clog.

How long does snaking take?

Most single-fixture clogs clear in 20 to 45 minutes. Clogs further into a branch line can take up to an hour. Main line snaking, when appropriate, can run 1 to 2 hours depending on the severity and length of the line.
